"After falling behind the group, Hull text-messaged his daughter to inform her he was turning around, and would be home later Tuesday afternoon. When he did not return, she contacted the Long Beach Police Department," Eggers said.

The Coast Guard deployed a helicopter and a boat to conduct the search. The Panda II is a white-hulled sailboat with an aqua-blue line near the deckline.

Anyone with information on Hull's whereabouts was urged to call the Long Beach Police Department or the Coast Guard Command Center in San Pedro at (310) 521-3805.
