Updated: Bear Removed from Sierra Madre Neighborhood

Second Update, 2:09 p.mThe bear was tagged and removed by the Fish and Game Department, according to the city's Facebook page.

Update:
The city is asking people to stay clear of Mt Wilson Trail between Grandview and Sierra Madre Blvd to keep the bear from getting scared as Fish and Game officers try to bring the bear out of the tree.

Original: A bear was spotted Monday morning roaming in Sierra Madre and has since climbed a tree in the area of East Montecito, between Mountain Trail and Canon, according to the City of Sierra Madre's Facebook Page.

Officers from the Department of Fish and Game and the Pasadena Humane Society are on the scene, according to the city.

Additionally, one Patch reader reported spotting the bear this morning in her yard.  She wrote to Patch:

A man had heard his dog barking loudly up near Grandview and he went out to see the bear and followed him to the house.  We watched him in the yard and then he climbed the big tree in the yard and then went over the fence to the neighbors house.
An officer came with a gun but never was able to get close enough before the bear took off going SOUTH.
