Steven Niles, Neighbor

Steven Niles attended the University of Southern California where his studies culminated in a Doctor of Musical Arts.  He majored in piano performance and minored in Historical Musicology, Harpsichord Performance, and Music Education.  He has performed in notable halls in the U.S. and abroad as piano soloist and chamber musician. He is especially interested in contemporary music, having presented several world premieres by major composers.

Steven combines his research skills and a passion for journalism in writing event previews, reviews, and local news stories for Patch.com. He has contributed articles to the Ventura County Reporter and consulted on music for the L.A. Weekly.  He has written within other genres, including program notes, website content, and grant proposals.  

Besides music and writing, Steven's many other interests include the French language, chess, and meditation.
