Sandy Gillis has co-authored two books about the San Gabriel Valley including Hometown Pasadena at At Home: Pasadena, which takes readers on a tour through some of the valley's most fab homes and gardens, including several in Sierra Madre. A former talk show segment producer for NBC and Lifetime, she's written for hometown-pasadena.com and Westways, as well as operated a floral supply company and garden design and maintenance business. For these Sandy has written many tax checks to state and federal governments, with her thanks. Sandy read about gardens for her BA in English from Wheaton College, Norton, MA. As a horticulture student at Mt. SAC in Walnut, CA, she's supplemented her field studies with sunscreen and heating pads.
