Play Co-Ed Softball in Sierra Madre

Sierra Madre's summer softball league caters to adults who are looking for a little recreational fun and for those who are in it to win it.

The arrival of summer means it's softball time in Sierra Madre. The Adult Co-ed Softball League is now accepting registration forms from full teams as well as solo players. Participants must be at least 18-years-old. If a player doesn't have a team, they'll be placed on one. There are two halves to the league- one for players who want a more recreational experience, and the other for players who want to be more competitive. Champions of each will receive t-shirts for their softball skills. The season runs from late June through August. Games will be held Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Heasley Field in Sierra Vista Park. Space is limited, so early sign-up is encouraged. Local Youth Cheer and Football League Needs Sponsors

The Arcadia Indians serves youths in Arcadia Sierra Madre and Monrovia.

Editor's Note: The Arcadia Junior All American Football Association, Inc. (also called the Arcadia Indians) is a non-profit volunteer organization "dedicated to developing sportsmanship and leadership skills through youth football and cheer programs." The league serves youths ages 6-14 who live in Arcadia, Monrovia or Sierra Madre. This post was adapted from an e-mail submitted to Patch by Loren Aguilar, the Arcadia Indians cheer and special events coordinator. Recently, the Arcadia Indians stood in jeopardy of losing the league. At the end of last season, the Indians almost had to join the Temple City league, since they did not have a board of directors or any funds. Rose Bowl to Host Olympic-Caliber Water Polo

Catch the U.S. Men's Water Polo Team playing against the Croatian Men's National Water Polo Team on June 1 at the Rose Bowl. The match is the U.S.A.'s final one before heading off to the Olympics.

A fierce match on the road to London's Olympic games is pitting the U.S. Men's National Water Polo Team against the Croatian Men's National Water Polo Team on June 1 at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center.  Fans are invited to witness the fierce rivalry at 5:30 p.m., June 1 at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, 360 North Arroyo Blvd., Pasadena. Following the game there will be a poolside gala dinner with both teams.  This is the final game for the U.S. Team before departing to London for the Olympics.  “We are honored to host this game and to celebrate some of our nation’s finest athletes who have made significant sacrifices and a tremendous commitment to represent the United States,” said Kurt Knop, executive director of the Rose Bowl Aquatics …
