Nature Friends facilitates these activities in its own backyard - the majestic Sierra Madre mountains. Additionally, the group hosts lectures, movie nights and concerts right on its own property. It is a non-profit group and asks that you call first prior to visiting. Membership applications can be found online, and dues are 30 dollars per year.

High above the noise of the 210 Freeway, this park is a welcoming escape from the sprawling urban landscape of the Greater Los Angeles area. At Bailey Canyon Park, visitors will find thorough, easy to use trail maps and guides to local wildlife permanently posted for anyone interested in learning about the diverse selection of native flora and fuana. Additionally, Bailey Canyon Park has a fire ring, public restrooms, picnic areas and barbeque grills. The small park is the trailhead for two major hiking trails that tour the Sierra Madre Wilderness Area above, including the Live Oak Nature Trail and the Canyon View Nature Trail. Much of the park is handicap accessable, including the free parking lot. The park facilities are able to be reserved for use by private parties and community groups, though the proper contact must be made through the Sierra Madre Community Services Office, located in Sierra Vista Park. Groups in need of more information or who are ready to make their reservations should contact the department via email or by the phone. Reservation fees will apply in most cases and all applications must be reviewed by city staff before they can be approved.
