Ararat Masonic Lodge #848
33 E Sierra Madre Blvd, Sierra Madre, CA 91024
Masonic lodges, buildings in which Freemasons convene, are famously secretive. This one is no different, though we doMore know that it was built in 2004 by a group of Armenian-American Freemasons in the hopes of attracting other similar Freemasons who shared their Armenian cultural values. Today Armenian-born and non-Armenian-born Freemasons meet in this large cubed building near the corner of Baldwin and Sierra Madre. In 2005 "Most Worshipful Grand Master Howard Kirkpatrick" granted the official status of the establishment. They currently meet every third Thursday at 7 in the evening and also work on translating Masonic degree works into Armenian.
