Adoptable pets at the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA and pet safety tips for the holidays

With the holiday season at full speed, the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA strongly encourages you not to purchase pets as gifts. Instead, purchase a gift certificate at The Pet Store to cover the cost of a shelter animal adoption. This will help ensure a positive match between person and pet and reduce the number of pets that are returned to the shelter.

With that said, meet our Pets of the Week: Harry, Brian, Sugar and Leela!

A319099  – Harry is a sweet, playful 12-year-old harrier mix. He loves belly rubs. His regular adoption fee is $120. He does qualify for our Seniors for Seniors program for eligible adopters 60 years old or older.

A236792  – Brian is a social six-year-old cream and white cat. He lives in our communal cat room and gets along well with other cats. His adoption fee is $70.

A315791 –Sugar is a two-year-old white female rabbit. She’s very friendly and loves to cuddle. She’s also litter box trained!  Her adoption fee is $30.

A318910 — Leela came to the shelter with an injured right eye resulting in it being surgically removed by our vet. She's a sweet four-month-old gray tabby. She'd be a great addition to a loving, attentive family. Her adoption fee is $70. Contact an adoptions counselor for more information about her at (626) 792-7151.

The adoption fee includes the animal’s spay/neuter surgery, a microchip, the first set of vaccinations, as well as a free follow-up health check at a participating vet. New adopters will receive complimentary health and wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals. Ask an adoptions counselor for more information during your visit.

Call the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA at 626.792.7151 and refer to the animal’s “A” number, or visit us  at 361 S. Raymond Ave in Pasadena. Adoption hours are 11-4 Sunday, 9-5 Tuesday –Friday and 9-4 Saturday. Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters from phone calls or email. Directions and photos of all pets can be found atwww.pasadenahumane.org.
