Sierra Madre Rose Princess Application Deadline Approaching

Sierra Madre Rose Princesses will represent the city at Tournament of Roses functions and ride on the Sierra Madre float in the January parade.

The application deadline for young ladies wishing to become a 2012 Sierra Madre Rose Princess is Oct. 6, less than one month away.

Those selected by the as the next princesses will be charged with a number of duties, including representing the city at  Tournament of Roses functions, speaking in front of the and other local organization, assisting with the float decorating process and, of course, riding on the 2010 Sierra Madre Rose Parade float entry.

Last year’s Princesses for The Sierra Madre Rose Float Association were Yasmine Ibrahim and Madeline Pirrone.

The reign of Ibrahim and Pirrone will come to an end later this year when they hand over the honor to the newly selected princesses at the Princess Coronation Dinner and Ceremony, scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16 at the .

All applicants must be between 15 and 18 years of age, have a 3.0 grade average and be a resident of Sierra Madre.

Applicants must also be ready to attend the annual judging interviews held between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, also at the .

Applications, which can be found at , local high schools and on the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association website, must be submitted no later than Oct. 6, 2011.
