Lono Tyson Named 2013 Mount Wilson Trail Race Starter

The 85-year-old will officially start the May 25th race.

The Mount Wilson Trail Race Committee is happy to announce Lono Tyson, long time trail race runner, as the 2013 Official Race Starter for the May 25th race.

Tyson is a triathlete, snowboarder, surfer, weightlifter and in the gym seven days a week. But aside from being extremely physically active, Tyson is also a cancer survivor who happens to be 85 years old.

"He’s run the Mount Wilson Trail Race more times than we can count. We never begin or end a race without him," according to organizers.

An inspiration to all and a positive spirit, a man who doesn’t have the words “no” or “can’t” in his vocabulary, the committee says they are humbled and privileged to have him as this year’s Mount Wilson Trail Race “Official Race Starter”.
