La Salle Advances in Claremont Passing Tournament
Lancers resume tournament play Saturday at 10 a.m.
La Salle is beginning to show life after an abysmal 2010. It definitely was evident Friday during the first day of the Claremont Passing Tourmanent, as the Lancers finished 2-2 and placed third in their pool.
After promising wins over Glendora and St. Bonaventure to start the tournament, they began to lose their grasp against Crespi and Summit. Michael Novell had a solid outing working with his offense, being able to execute inside the field with his receivers well.
“Coming from last year, these boys are learning how to practice at game tempo,” Lancers head coach Antoine Peterson said. “We haven’t had a passing game in over a week, so to go against another opponent we really needed. We are thrilled to be 2-2 and live to play another day.”
