Just For Kids: Mt. Wilson Trail Race Fun Run

The Mount Wilson Trail Race might be a little too tough for youngsters, but that doesn't mean they can't compete like the big guys and gals. There is a special MWTR Fun Run just for youth and special training days to get them ready.

Though the Mount Wilson Trail Race is geared towards the hardcore adult runner, there's an opportunity for kids to participate in the festivities and break a sweat, too.

Mount Wilson Trail Race Kids' Fun Run

There will be a one-mile MWTR Kids' Fun Run with CATZ Sports on Saturday, May 26 shortly after the full trail race begins. It's absolutely free, open to kids ages three to 14-years-old, and the first 250 kids to sign up get a free t-shirt and a participation ribbon courtesy of CATZ.

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. the day-of in Kersting Court, and the race starts at 7:45 a.m. The race will be up and down Baldwin Ave. The kid runners will finish under the same banner as the trail runners.

Kids’ Fun Run Training Days

Join past MWTR Women’s Race Winners Sharon Pevsner and Jill Liston as they prepare your kid for the MWTR Kid’s Fun Run.

Training days will be held Saturday April 21, 2012 and Saturday May 12, 2012 at Sierra Vista Park beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Participation in the training days is free. Kids should bring running shoes and water.

Participants will learn basic running techniques, complete running drills, and take part in a question and answer session with Sharon Pevsner and Jill Liston.
