The 5K Run  and Food Drive is a major fundraiser for the Community Center of La Canada Flintridge as well as an opportunity for all to support a very worthy cause, squeeze in a workout and to donate non-perishable food  items to those in need.  Formerly known as  "The Turkey Trot" or “The Run for the Hungry," the event has recently changed its name to “Thanksgiving Day Run & Food Drive.

Proceeds will be used to support the many programs and services the Community Center of La Canada Flintrdge offers.  In conjunction with the Run, the Community Center is excited to partner the La Crescenta Sheriff's Department for the Food Drive during the weeks that lead up to the race.

In past years, non-perishable donations have exceeded more than 10,000 cans, and this year, the Center hopes to have the biggest food drive La Cañada has ever seen!  With more than 1,500 participants each year, the Thanksgiving Day Run & Food Drive is an excellent chance to support your local 501 (c)(3) nonprofit community center while helping others in the greater Los Angeles community.

With your help and participation, we will be able to Run Forward and Give Back!

See you at the Starting Line....

What are these "organizations that can assist educators in providing an additional incomeRead More source for school supplies?" What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
