Prominent poet Azure Antoinette, who has been honored by Oprah and commissioned by Dr. Dre, will speak at Alverno High School's Baccalaureate ceremonies. Check out a video of her performing.

has selected Azure Antoinette to deliver the keynote address at this year’s Baccalaureate ceremony for graduating seniors.

Antoinette, a poet Oprah hand selected for the first-ever poetry issue of O Magazine and commissioned writer for clients such as Maria Shriver and Beats By Dr. Dre, has dedicated her time to educating the youth on the power of using their own voice through creative expression.

Baccalaureate Mass will take place at 6:30 p.m. this coming Thursday at .

Following the ceremony, Antoinette will be hosting the Baccalaureate Ball that will take place in Alverno’s Hollywood famous Villa del Sol d’Oro located on campus for close family to celebrate and honor the graduates’ achievement.

The graduation commencement speech will be delivered by Dr. Wanda Austin, President and CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, on Friday.

Antoinette is the creator of STUDIO:alchemy, which is the creative house for her in/after school programs.STUDIO:alchemy provides custom workshops on the themes of spoken word, performance poetry and the use of social media.
