Update: Alverno Triumphs Over Sacred Heart

The Alverno Jaguars won 5-0 over Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday.

Update: Alverno High School reached out to Patch this morning with a correction. While their soccer team did win against Sacred Heart of Jesus 5-0, they are not League Champions. The soccer team still has four games to go in the League before a Champion will be decided. Alverno has won the League for the past 11 seasons.

The Jaguars are halfway through their League games. The girls had a rough start, losing their first game to Bishop Conaty. However, they made an extraordinary comeback in their next two games, winning 6-0 against Holy Family and 7-0 against San Gabriel Mission. If the Jaguars win against Bishop Conaty on Friday, it will put them in first place for the League.

“The soccer team is doing really well this season and they are in great form,” said Head Coach Ken Berry. “With Alverno getting all of its starting players back on the field, they have been doing an amazing job working as a team and winning many of their games.”
