Downtown Sierra Madre is full of quaint restaurants and shops that characterize our portion of the foothills. In order to keep downtown thriving, the city is putting together a Downtown Retail Market Demand Study to find out what residents and visiting shoppers want and need. They’ve hired Buxton, a market planning consulting business, to help.
To cater the study specifically to Sierra Madre, the city is holding a public meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. All are encouraged to attend and weigh in.
The city says the purpose of the study isn’t to make drastic changes to Sierra Madre’s downtown. Rather, it’s to attempt to enhance downtown by attracting new businesses that residents want and need, and to help established businesses offer useful new products and services.
So what do you think downtown Sierra Madre needs? What products, services and stores would you like? Share your thoughts below.
