The following is a list of a some of the items on the agenda for the Apri 9, 2013 Sierra Madre City Council meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers. 

DISCUSSION: CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO. 13-19; TO EXTEND THE SECOND UNIT AMNESTY PROGRAM FOR AN ADDITIONAL THREE MONTHS, IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE 2008-2014 HOUSING ELEMENT HOUSING PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

  • Recommendation that the City Council approve Resolution No. 13-19 approving an extension of the application timeframe for the second unit amnesty program, in association with implementing a Housing Program Objective of the 2008-2014 Housing Element.

DISCUSSION: RECOMMENDATION TO INITIATE A TRAFFIC ENGINEERING STUDY FOR THE INTERSECTIONS OF HIGHLAND AVENUE & BALDWIN AVENUE AND HIGHLAND AVENUE & MOUNTAIN TRAIL AVENUE

  • Recommendation that the City Council approve an additional appropriation from General Fund reserves of $4,288 and direct staff to initiate a traffic study for the intersections of Highland Avenue & Baldwin Avenue and Highland Avenue & Mountain Trail Avenue

PUBLIC HEARING: CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT 12-05 – REQUEST TO ALLOW VERIZON WIRELESS TO INSTALL A NEW WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATION FACILITY AND AN EQUIPMENT SHELTER AT 611 EAST SIERRA MADRE BOULEVARD

  • Recommendation that the City Council conduct a Public Hearing, receive testimony, and approve Resolution No. 13-17, a Resolution of the City Council approving Conditional Use Permit 12-05 to install a new 49-foot high wireless telecommunication facility and a 192 square-foot equipment shelter located at 611 E. Sierra Madre Boulevard.

  • Recommendation that the City Council not contract police dispatch services.

DISCUSSION: STATUS UPDATE: MARKET DEMAND STUDY

  • Recommendation that the City Council provide staff with direction on incentives, if any, provided to new retailers and if the City Council wishes to extend Buxton services for an additional year.
