City Served With Blogger's Water Rate Lawsuit - Full Complaint Attached

Filed Friday May 6, 2011, the summons and full lawsuit was delivered to City Hall today, May 10, 2011.

Sierra Madre City Manager Elaine Aguilar confirmed today that the City of Sierra Madre has been served with a summons from the Los Angeles County Superior Court regarding a lawsuit filed by , publisher of the Sierra Madre Tattler blog and of the .

Attorney and former Sierra Madre Mayor Kurt Zimmerman is representing Crawford in the suit, which was filed with the court on Friday, May 6, 2011.

Crawford announced the filing of the lawsuit in a blog post published Monday, May 9, 2011. The suit is the culmination of a long line of protest letters and threats of litigation from Crawford, and other .

The suit alleges that the City Council violated the provisions of Proposition 218, which gives ratepayers the right to protest any proposed increase in rates, along with other alleged violations.
