UPDATED: Selinske Defeats Baggett in Pasadena School Board Run-Off Election: Live Blog

Patch will be updating our readers throughout the night on the results of the run-off election between incumbent Tom Selinske and challenger Sean Baggett.

10:18 p.m. - Selinske Wins - Tom Selinske has held onto his seat on the Pasadena Unified School District Board, defeating Sean Baggett by a strong margin. With all 72 precincts reporting, here's a look at the final* numbers.

Tom Selinske: 7,968 votes, 61.4%

Sean Baggett: 4,999 votes, 38.5%

*Pasadena City Clerk Mark Jomsky confirmed that there are still 622 provisional ballots left to be counted in the PUSD election.

9:45 p.m. - Selinske Has Left the Building - Presumably to attend a celebratory "gathering of friends" he mentioned earlier, incumbent Tom Selinske has left Pasadena City Hall as he appears to have beaten out challenger Sean Baggett in the run-off election for Seat 6. With 67 of 72 precincts reporting, here's a look at the latest totals:

Tom Selinske: 7,852 votes, 61.1%

Sean Baggett: 4,960 votes, 38.7%

9:23 p.m. - 15 More Precincts Now Reporting - With nearly half of the precincts reporting and over 10,000 votes now counted, Tom Selinske's lead continues to hold strong.  Here are the latest totals with 35 of the total 72 precincts reporting.

Tom Selinske: 5,869 votes, 57.7%

Sean Baggett: 4,301 votes, 42.2%

9:12 p.m. - Selinske Lead Widens - The latest round of results have just been released and challenger Sean Baggett has fallen behind Tom Selinske by another roughly 3% of the total votes counted. here's a look at the latest totals with 20 of the total 72 precincts reporting.

Tom Selinske: 5,528 votes, 56.8%

Sean Baggett: 4,204 votes, 43.1%

8:56 p.m. - First Results Reported - Pasadena City Clerk has just reported the total count for the vote-by-mail ballots, and it's looking like a tight race so far between Selinske and Baggett. Here's a look at the totals thus far:

Tom Selinske: 4,800 votes, 54.1%

Sean Baggett: 4,064 votes, 45.8%

Speaking with Patch in the council chambers, Seat 6 incumbant Tom Selinske said he was feeling "optimistic" about his chances to retain his seat. "It's been a great last few weeks and days of talking to people and making calls. I feel good," Selinske said.

8:12 p.m. - The first round of vote-by-mail ballots are now being tallied in the Pasadena City Council chambers at City Hall. Election workers are currently making their way through the first boxes of votes and we expect to be able to report some preliminary results any minute now.
