PUSD Board Candidates Invited to Sierra Madre Parent Forum

The board candidates have been invited to a Wednesday forum at Sierra Madre Middle School, though none of them will be directly representing Sierra Madre.

Candidates for Pasadena Unified School Board seats have been invited to discuss their vision for the district at the "Parent Coffee and Campus Tour" at Sierra Madre Middle School at 160 N. Canon Avenue.

There are four seats being decided on the March 5 ballot, though Sierra Madre residents will not have a vote in any of the races.

That's because since the Measure A districting measure passed last June, district voters only vote for one candidate representing a geographical sub-district instead of voting for a full slate of at-large candidates (a majority of Sierra Madre voters opposed Measure A).

The seat that includes Sierra Madre, seat 6, will be voted on in the March 2015 election. For a full list of candidates and a map of the districts visit the Pasadena city clerk's website.

The tour event starts at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.  Interested parties should RSVP to Stephen Tanner at stanner@arguscg.com, 626-945-0307 cell.

What are these "organizations that can assist educators in providing an additional incomeRead More source for school supplies?" What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
