Public Hearing for Martial Arts Studio
The Planning Commission will consider a request tonight for a martial arts studio to move into an empty retail space on Sierra Madre Blvd.
Sierra Madre Blvd. could soon see a martial arts studio.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing tonight to consider Gary Gapezzani's request to open a martial arts studio at 303 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., right next to Arnold's Hardware. The 3,300 square foot space is currently empty, but was formerlly occupied by Highlander Jr. Market & Liquor.
A Conditional Use Permit (CUP) is required for any fitness studio (or similar business) to open in Sierra Madre. According to city code, a permit is required to ensure that "such uses will be rendered compatible with other uses located in the general area."

The Planning Commission welcomes public comment at their meetings. Members request that speakers limit their time to four minutes.
Tonight's meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.
