Poll: Should An NFL Team Play at The Rose Bowl?

An environmental report is complete. Now it's up to Pasadena whether or not an NFL team will play there.

The City of Pasadena released an environmental report Thursday on the impacts of hosting 13 NFL games at the Rose Bowl for up to five years, according to Pasadena Sun

Per the publication:

The environmental report is part of a process to prepare for the possiblity of hosting an NFL team for up to five years while a permanent stadium is built elsewhere in the region. Officials decided to go ahead with an environmental report on the chance that a team will want to relocate to Southern California and use the Rose Bowl, a decision that is up to the National Football League and the team that would move to Los Angeles area.

Patch Asks: Should Pasadena City Council support this proposal? How would these added events affect you? Would you go to the games?

It would be interesting to break the polls down by east Altadena/Pasadena and west Altadena/Pasadena. Here are the results of a December, 2011 West Pasadena Residents' Association poll: 43% of respondents thought the City should not consider temporary use of the Rose Bowl by the NFL, 19% thought the City should consider it, 37% thought the City should consider it, but only if certain requirements were met. People who live in the west side neighborhoods and have to deal with noise and traffic on narrow streets do have legitimate concerns which need to be addressed and/or mitigated.

You should not have moved to that neighborhood if you are complaining about the Rose Bowl. It was there long before you moved in, so it is your own stupid choice to complain about noise. if you dont like the rose bowl, move away from it. likewise, if you don't like traffic and car congestion, don't live in Los Angeles

Either use it, tear it down or line the thing with solar panels and generate energy off of it. I agree. That's what it's there for!

I would get no benefit from an NFL team playing at the Rose Bowl; I would have to put up with huge amounts of traffic. I would get some benefit from the Walmart supermarket (I could shop there), and I doubt that it would generate a lot of traffic. I'd rather have the Walmart.

When large events occur at the Rose Bowl, they adversely affect traffic on major streets as well as on narrow, residential streets.
