Patch Sierra Madre Election 2012 Guide

Polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Here's the info you'll need when voting time comes.

Tuesday morning will open the chance for Sierra Madre residents to shape how they want their City Council to look for the next few years.

For those who haven't been keeping a close eye on the candidates, their campaigns, and what they think of some of the issues facing the city, Patch has assembled this guide to help. If you want to check out a sample ballot and a UUT fact sheet from the city, they are attached to this article. 

Here's some more of what you'll need to know:

The Candidates

Patch has covered six of the candidates for City Council through short bios, forums and blogs. The candidates have shared their opinions of hot topics such as the UUT extension, the Kensington Project and police spending. Richard Mays is also running unopposed for the post of treasurer.

What are these "organizations that can assist educators in providing an additional incomeRead More source for school supplies?" What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
