Parking Tickets in Sierra Madre: Have you Had Any Problems?

Today on Arcadia Patch, editor Nathan McIntire writes that there has been a 220 percent spike in the number of parking tickets issued over the last six years since the Inter-Con Security Systems company took over parking enforcement in that city.

The Arcadia City Council will decide this week whether or not to renew their contract.

Inter-Con is also newly under contract with Sierra Madre to provide parking enforcement.  The Pasadena Star-News noted in its story on the change in April  that Inter-Con expected to increase the number of tickets issued daily from seven to 15.

Inter-Con also handles parking enforcement in Pasadena, Alhambra, South Pasadena, San Gabriel, La Verne, Glendora and Covina. The company hires and trains its own personnel.

Discussion of whether Inter-Con is too aggressive in writing tickets came up back in 2009 when the City of Pasadena was discussing whether or not to renew their contract.

So we are curious Patch readers - have you noticed more tickets being issued over the last few months?  How satisfied or dissatisfied with you on parking enforcement in the city overall?  Tell us in the comments.
