Sierra Madre resident Darlene Mathieson is the newest member of the city's Community Services Commission.

The Sierra Madre City Council Tuesday appointed resident Darlene Mathieson to the Community Services Commission. Mathieson has lived in Sierra Madre since 1970 and has children and grandchildren who live in town.

Three other applications for this position were received.

Mathieson said that as a member of the committee, she intends to focus on what she can do for the younger members of the community. "We need to invest in our children," she said.
