Of Sierra Madre’s 7,785 registered voters, just 2,282 went to the polls for last Tuesday’s Primary Election. That’s 29.31-percent, according to the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/Clerks office.
Though that number may seem low, it’s far better than the average L.A. County voter turnout, which was just 17.2-percent.
Voters cast ballots for the Presidential Primary, State and Federal representatives as well as County and State measures. Sierra Madre also voted on Measure A, the PUSD districting measure.
It's interesting to note that though Measure A passed, . Also, Donna Lowe earned more votes in the 41st Assembly Race than Chris Holden did. District-wide, Holden earned more votes than Lowe, though both candidates will advance to the November ballot.
