What is "Fracking"?

The public is invited to a free symposium hosted by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) next Tuesday, September 18th from 9:00am to 3:30pm.  The event will be held at the SCAQMD Headquarters located at 21865 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, Ca. 91765.

This event will take a closer look at the process of hydraulic fracturing, commonly referred to as “fracking”, which is an oil and gas production process that pumps water into the earth to release oil and natural gas locked in the rock underground.

Pre-registration is recommended.  To register email RYeung@aqmd.gov or call Ana Ponce at (909) 396-3008.  For more information contact Henry Hogo at (909) 396-3184 or email hhogo@aqmd.gov.
