General Plan Update Steering Committee Meeting

The General Plan Steering Committee meetings are open to the public, and are held the first Tuesdays of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.

The City of Sierra Madre is .  The General Plan is a document which includes a collection of policies and maps that defines what the city will look like and how it will be economically managed and developed over a long period of time. The General Plan guides the policy-making of city government. 

Every city in California has a General Plan, and it must include the background and the policies of seven elements: 1) Circulation 2) Conservation 3) Housing 4) Land Use 5) Noise 6) Open Space, and 7) Safety and Seismic Safety. A General Plan may also include other topics of local interest.

The process is being guided by a General Plan Steering Committee appointed by the City Council.
