County Seeking Public Comment on Sediment Management Plan

The deadline for public comment has been extended on a plan for how to best handle potential environmental damage from dam sediment removal.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works has extended its public comment period for its sediment management plan, which details what methods the department will use for cleaning out storm sediment that builds up in debris basins across L.A. County.

The full plan can be viewed on the department website - a summary of the alternatives the county is considering for specific dams in the county can be viewed on right.

The commenting period has been extended until August 28.
