City Hosting Reception for Local Artist Halcyon Koerber

Friday night's reception will showcase the work of Sierra Madre artist Halcyon Koerber whose work is on display at City Hall until Nov. 17.

The Sierra Madre Community Arts Commission on Friday will present an Artist Reception on Friday, October 14 to showcase the work of local artist .

Koerber's work is currently on display at and will remain up until Thursday, Nov. 17. 

"I like to draw (mostly) portraits in pastel. I like the medium because of the immediate color achieved," Koerber said in a press release announcing the exhibition. "It is dusty and messy and fragile. It can be easily smeared and erased which helps me remember that we are created from dust and it is to dust we shall return."

Community members are invited to the reception, scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. and last until around 7:30 p.m. at the . The event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
