City Council to Discuss 710 Tunnel Extension at Tuesday's Meeting

A preview of the Sierra Madre City Council's Tuesday meeting.

The Sierra Madre City Council meeting on Tuesday night will include discussion of whether the city should take a position on the proposed tunnel extension of the 710 Freeway.

The environmental study of the 710 tunnel project has included looking at surface road routes and adding light rail and bus routes.  The tunnel alternative could increase traffic on the 210 Freeway, the impact most likely to affect Sierra Madre residents.

The council agenda lists discussion of the project and the possibility of taking a formal position on the project, but no recommendation from staff.
