The ceremony will be held at the Noor Terrace courtyard in Pasadena at 4 p.m. today.

A ceremonial swearing-in for first-term Assemblyman Chris Holden will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Noor Terrace courtyard at Paseo Colorado in Pasadena.

A reception will follow at 4:30 p.m.

Rep. Judy Chu, D-Monterey Park, will join Holden in speaking.

Holden, D-Pasadena, was formally sworn in Monday at the state capitol and appointed as majority whip.

Holden represents the 41st District, which stretches from Pasadena to Upland. He was mayor of Pasadena from 1997-99 and a member of its City Council from 1989 until last month.

Holden is a son of former state Senator and Los Angeles City Councilman Nate Holden.

What are these "organizations that can assist educators in providing an additional incomeRead More source for school supplies?" What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
