Water and Sewer Rate Study to Be Discussed at City Council Meeting Tuesday

The possible installation of "smart" water meters is also on the agenda.

Tuesday's Sierra Madre City Council agenda includes items about a study of water and sewer rates.

The council is set to vote on issuing a professional services contract in an amount not to exceed $48,000 to Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc. for the preparation of water and sewer rate studies. 

Other items include:

  • Recommendation that the City Council authorize staff to issue an RFP seeking bids for the installation of an AMI meter reading system, also known as "smart" meters, which can be read by a computer remotely.
  • Recommendation that the City Council read by title only, pass second reading, and adopt Ordinance No. 1339 amending Chapter 9.36 of the Sierra Madre Municipal Code pertaining to Alarms. Read more about this issue here.
