Wistaria Festival Road Closure Information Issued by Sierra Madre Police

Sierra Madre Police release information detailing road closures and parking restrictions for annual Wistaria Festival.

The has released official road closure and parking information for the annual which is being held this Sunday, March 20, 2011.

In response to the more than 10,000 people slated to flood the festival area, police will close off Sierra Madre Boulevard between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday between Lima Street and Baldwin Avenue.

Additional road closures include both the north and southbound lanes of Baldwin Avenue between Sierra Madre Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

Police are also adament that no parking will be allowed on Carter Avenue between Baldwin Avenue and Lima Street, which is close to the Wistaria Vine House on North Hermosa Avenue. Festival-goers interested in viewing the vine are advised to take the .

The information from the SMPD says that these closures will be in effect regardless of weather conditions.

A statemt from the SMPD recommends Orange Grove and Grandview Avenues as good alternatives to traverse the city during the festival.

MTA Buses that would normally travel along Sierra Madre Boulevard will be re-routed to Orange Grove Avenue as well.
