Williams Fire: 48% Contained as of Wednesday Afternoon

According to the US Forest Service, full containment of the San Gabriel Canyon fire is still projected for September 13th.

The Williams Fire, burning in the Angeles National Forest above Glendora, is now 48% contained, according to Wednesday afternoon's US Forest Service InciWeb report

 Here are the latest stats:

  • Total acres burned: 4,180.
  • Firefighting resources: 8 air tankers, 10 helicopters, 68 engines,8 dozers, 46 hand crews, and 11 water tenders.
  • Total personnel: 1,275
  • Current Strategy: Firefighters will continue line construction and holding and strengthening existing lines while utilizing aircraft and ground forces. Crews will take advantage of opportunities to engage in direct attack when possible.
