Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Aids Injured Hiker Near Chantry Flats

A hiker who injured her ankle was transported off a hiking trail near the Chantry Flats trailhead Wednesday morning, according to a member of the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue team.

The woman injured her ankle and was unable to walk at all.  She called 9-1-1 and the Fire Department and Search and Rescue team responded.

The team was able to drive within 50 feet of the woman's located by going the steep partly-paved trail/road that heads down in the canyon below the trail head area, according to the team member.
