Police Chase Two Large Mountain Lions Back into Forest

Sierra Madre Police had to chase the large animals away from the residence on Camillo Road.

Two considerably large mountain lions were found lounging in the front yard of a home on Camillo Road in Sierra Madre Tuesday morning. The cats stayed in the resident’s lawn until they were chased back up into the forest by officers from the .

In response to the incidents and to the size of these particular mountain lions, the SMPD is planning to issue a public alert in conjunction with the California Department of Fish and Game and the Pasadena Humane Society, according to City News Service.

The animals were spotted at around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning after a resident heard noises and saw them on his neighbor's yard.

CNS reported that one 17-year veteran of the police department said he had never seen mountain lions as big as the two spotted Tuesday morning.
