Motorcyclist Injured in Crash Near Chantry Flats

Circumstances surrounding the crash still being investigated.

A motorcyclist received undisclosed injuries when he lost control of his bike and collided with a guardrail near Chantry Flats Sunday afternoon.

Authorities responded around 2:43 p.m.

The man crash while riding on Santa Anita Avenue near Arno Drive, according to an official at Fire Station 41 in Sierra Madre.

The man was traveling northbound when he tried to take a hairpin turn, lost control of the bike, crossed the double yellow lines and hit the rail, said Sergeant Joe Ortiz of

Obviously not being careful or just going way too fast.

Unfortunately there are a lot of 20-something male riders on "rice rockets" pushing it to the limit. I'd rather ride just a little bit slower and enjoy the ride and live to remember it.

I've been riding motorcycles for 45yrs. and commute to the Southbay everyday. One lesson I was taught when I was 15 years old was once you think you have a motorcycle whipped.....it's gomna whip you My two cents....
