More Than 2,000 Arrested in LA County DUI Crackdown

Additional anti-DUI campaigns are planned for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

LA County law enforcement made more than 2,000 arrests over an 18-day period which ended on Labor Day. The arrests were part of the  Avoid the 100 campaign, a concentrated effort by law enforcement to crackdown on holiday-related drunk driving.

From mid-August to September 3rd, a total of 2,098 individuals were arrested in LA County via sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, and regular routine patrols. During the same time period in 2011, officers made 2,795 arrests.

The next anti-DUI campaign in Los Angeles County will be during the Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays. 

Avoid the 100, an anti-DUI effort consisting of 100 Los Angeles County law enforcement agencies, coordinates all campaigns using funds through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.

What are the other "big retailers" besides Staples that are helping teachers with rewards programs? This is a great subject but there is little detail here beyond a link to the Staples program. Would love to read a follow up piece with more useful information.
