Man Identified in Fatal 134 Freeway Crash

Jimmy Hughes Jr. died in the crash near Harvey Drive Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County coroner.

A 37-year-old driver killed, when he lost control of Chevrolet Suburban that crossed the Ventura (134) Freeway and collided with a car going the other way, was identified Saturday as a Los Angeles man.

Jimmy Hughes Jr. died in the wreck near Harvey Drive shortly after 7 a.m. Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol and a coroner's spokesman.

Hughes was westbound when he lost control of the big SUV, which went off the shoulder, down an embankment, across the median and into eastbound lanes, colliding with a Toyota Solara and overturning, according to the CHP, which listed Hughes listed as a Los Angeles resident.

The man driving the Toyota suffered minor injuries, according to the CHP.

Wow! @ black heart--do you really think your comment is appropriate? Please if you don't like or have an issue with the Hughes Fam and their fundraiser simply don't make a donation and stop being so nosy and "wasting" your time reading the comments here and putting in your uneducated mediocre comment above. As you are aware there are children involved that have had a tremendous lost! They have lost their father please have some respect! My Fam was fortunate enough to have met Jimmy and his children and let me tell you he was an exceptional father! Did you ever met him? Yeah I' m sure not so please refrain from speaking. I am very happy that people are extending their love in many different ways to this Fam and that due to the person Jimmy was have raised the amount they have for his 5 children. As you can read I am not lowering my self to your level simply trying to open your eyes. You should never think its okay to make the type of comments you did without any regards towards others especially under these unfortunate circumstances. Remember if you don't like the wonderful caring cause Stop looking into it and don't make a donation. Kindness is power!

Black heart this only tells me one thing. You have no one and nothing going for yourself. I'm sorry you have had such a horrible life. The only way out is my opening your heart and your mind. These people do not donate their money because we forced them to. They did it because God has blessed them with the resources to do so. God will continue to bless them with wonderful people and good fortune because they are kind. You should learn from them bc this negativity has taken over you and your life and that is why you have amounted to nothing BUT a black heart. I'm sorry you are so broke that you can not contribute anything but empty words. You should also get a life bc you're on the same blog wasting your time saying things that no one really cares to hear. You sorry little thing.

My heart sunk for all of you as I knew you all once upon a time.
