Man Arrested for Allegedly Kicking 9-Year-Old Child

Here's a look at the most recent crimes and calls for service as reported by the Sierra Madre Police Department.

In the seven-day period between Sunday, May 8, and Saturday, May 14, the Sierra Madre Police Department responded to approximately 244 calls for service. Of those calls, these were considered the most notable and added to the Sierra Madre Police blotter.

Monday, May 9

4:48 p.m. - Petty Theft in the 400 block of San Gabriel Court: An unknown suspect(s) stole a Garmin GPS and a Sony digital camera from an unlocked car parked on the owner’s driveway. Total loss value is $260.00.

Tuesday, May 10

7:31 p.m. - Auto Burglary in the 100 block of Rancho Road: An unknown suspect(s) stole Ray Ban sunglasses and CD recordings in a silver plastic case from a locked car on the driveway with the passenger window down about 3 inches. Total loss value $226.

8:44 p.m. - Tampering/Injuring vehicle or contents in the 600 block of E. Sierra Madre Boulevard: An unknown suspect(s) stole both of the rear light covers from a parked car in the south parking lot off E. Sierra Madre Boulevard.

Thursday, May 12

4:30 a.m. - Auto Burglary in the 700 block of W. Sierra Madre Boulevard: An unknown suspect(s) smashed the driver’s side window and took a CD binder containing 200 CDs. The total loss is valued at $500.

Friday, May 13

8:42 a.m. - Auto Burglary in the 100 block of W. Grandview Avenue: An unknown suspect(s) smashed the driver’s side window and removed a purple and black leopard print wallet from the center console containing $8 currency, a CA driver license, a Visa credit card, a debit card, student id card from Santa Clarita, a Disneyland pass, an expired CA license, an IPod and adapter plug with a brown and black leopard skin case, a Motorola Droid cellular phone and a Garmin GPS. The total loss is valued at $979.                     

Saturday, May 14

10:38 a.m. - Use Another’s Personal Identification to Obtain Credit in the 100 block of Lowell Avenue: This incident involves the unauthorized use of the victim’s credit by trying to open a credit card account without the victims permission.

6:52 p.m. - Willfully Harming a Child in the 600 block of E. Sierra Madre Boulevard: This incident involves a man kicking a 9-year-old child to keep him from crawling underneath the table he was carrying with five other adults. The man was arrested and transported to Pasadena Police Department Jail for booking.
