Local Homeless Man Arrested for String of Burglaries

Alonzo Johnson is being charged for a string of crimes in Sierra Madre and South Pasadena.

The Sierra Madre Police Department has arrested a local man in connection with a string of burglaries in Sierra Madre and South Pasadena.

Alonzo Johnson, 49, was arrested by the South Pasadena Police Department and is being held in county jail, according to the county Sheriff's Department inmate information site.

According to a release from the Sierra Madre Police Department, Johnson was behind several commercial and residential burglaries in Sierra Madre in August.

A Sierra Madre detective heard of the arrest and noted details of the crimes in South Pasadena were similar to those in Sierra Madre, according to the department's release.  Johnson was then positively identified by a victim of a Sierra Madre burglary.

Johnson is being held in lieu of $2 million bail on charges including kidnapping, robbery and burglary, according to the release.
