Elevated Fire Danger Forecast Starting Wednesday Night

Hot, dry, windy weather is coming to the San Gabriel Valley starting Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Santa Ana winds are forecast to hit Southern California Wednesday night and could result in winds of up 60 mph in the San Gabriel Mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

There will be an elevated fire danger in the mountains from Wednesday night to Thursday night and the San Gabriel Valley is among the areas in Southern California that could be impacted by the wind.

According to the weather service bulletin, the region could see the "most widespread Santa Ana wind event so far this season."

Temperatures are also expected to climb into the mid to high 80s starting on Thursday and are forecast to last through Monday.
