Two Wounded in Drive-By Shooting

The shooting occurred at 3:20 p.m. and appears to be gang-related, according to authorities.

A drive-by shooting occurred today at 3:20 pm at the 150 block of West Altadena Drive.  The shooters were described as two male adults in a blue van with Oregon license plates. The weapon was a possible handgun.

"It appears to be gang-related," said Lieutenant Fitch of the Sheriff's Department. "Two male adults in their 20s were shot, and injured but both are expected to make a full recovery," he continued.

The case is still under investigation. Check back on Patch for updates.

The pseudonym True Freedom places no more responsibility on my shoulders than any other poster.. The phrase "true freedom" can mean different things to different people. Some may take this to mean that anyone can do anything that they please. I do not subscribe to this interpretation. One my of interpretations is that true freedom is the ability for us to live in safe communities.. free from gangbanging, drug dealing and sex offenders.. and crime in general.

I'm not casting judgements on or drawing conclusions about anyone commenting on this article because I, like most others commenting, don't actually know what's going on at this house. But let me point out that the evidence obtained by AJ's own two eyes counts for nothing when it comes to taking a drug-dealing case to trial, or anywhere else. Videotaping the drug transactions would be much more effective. But don't count on the sheriffs to provide the camera. Some 25 years ago when I lived about as far into West Altadena as you can get, we had a similar situation on our street. When crack cocaine started becoming popular, local teenagers, armed and dangerous, started dealing on the street. Multiple complaints accomplished nothing with the sheriffs. It took the PCP dealer being shot dead on the street in the middle of the day, plus the fact that a neighbor (a reserve sheriff) had installed a video camera on a convenient telephone pole and recorded all the activity, to encourage the sheriffs to do a sweep. While the dealers were gone, the street set up a neighborhood watch to insure they wouldn't deal there in the future. If there really is a problem at this house, It's going to take the neighborhood to resolve this problem, and by "neighborhood" I don't mean people living three blocks away like AJ. That's notoriously hard to do, the dealers have fear of retaliation on their side. Complaining and trying to "out" alleged evildoers publicly won't help very much.

You're welcome, CJ. I remember the Ware boys from Edison.

TF, I checked and did not find anyone listed as a sex offender at that location.

So now we know that CJ is full of it.
