Fire captains in Sierra Madre are currently unpaid, but these three full-time positions would each pay $130,000 per year including benefits, according to Elisa Weaver, the City’s Public Information Officer.

Since the positions of paramedic coordinator and fire marshal will be eliminated, the fire captain additions would equate to one additional full-time employee as opposed to three, said Aguilar.
