Sunday, Nov. 14

2:30 p.m. - Residential Burglary in the 400 block of West Montecito Avenue: An unknown suspect or suspects entered a residential home by climbing onto a balcony and entering an opened balcony door. Items stolen from the home included an ebony jewelry box, numerous gold, jade, and pearl earrings, a 6-leaf eucalyptus motif necklace, other women's jewelry, and a gold colored standard pillowcase.  The suspect or suspects left the scene of the crime headed in an unknown direction, according to police logs.    

Tuesday, Nov. 16

2:16 a.m. - Driving Under the Influence Arrest at the intersection of Oak Crest Drive and Carter Avenue: A motorist was stopped for a vehicle code violation. Investigation by the officer revealed that the Sierra Madre resident was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Pasadena Police Jail for booking.

Wednesday, Nov. 17

1:04 a.m. - Driving Under the Influence Arrest at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Michillinda Avenue: A motorist was stopped for a vehicle code violation. Investigation by the officer on the scene revealed that the driver, an Altadena resident, was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was transported to Pasadena Police Jail for booking.   

7:45 a.m. – Battery reported in the 450 block of West Carter Avenue: This case involves an incident of battery that occurred at Bailey Canyon Park between a Sierra Madre resident walking his dog off leash and a Pasadena resident, who asked the man to put the dog on a leash. The man walking the dog reportedly pushed the victim as he passed him on the trail. The case was submitted to Pasadena District Attorney's office for review.

Thursday, Nov. 18

3:14 p.m. - Residential Burglary reported in the 100 block of East Bonita Avenue: An unknown suspect or suspects entered a residential home through the back door that contained an open "doggie door" opening. A gun vault containing a Ruger revolver handgun was stolen from the home.

Friday, Nov. 19

12:27 p.m. - Fraudulent Obtaining Money/ Property/Labor in the 30 block of East Montecito Avenue: This case involves a man selling phony iPod to a Sierra Madre resident. No other details were made available by the SMPD regarding this case.

Saturday, Nov. 20

2:43 p.m. - Possession of Dangerous Fireworks at the intersection of Baldwin and Hampton Avenues: An officer stopped a motorist for a vehicle code violation. During the stop the officer found what appeared to be a pipe bomb. Officers on the scene called the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Bomb Squad and the area was evacuated. Bomb squad investigators determined that the device was a collection of fireworks that had been packaged and wrapped to look like a pipe bomb. A 19-year-old Azusa man was arrested for possession of dangerous fireworks and taken to the Sierra Madre Police Department for booking. The suspect was released on a written promise to appear in court.
