Burglars Haul Furniture Out of Unoccupied Home in Foothill Neighborhood of Arcadia

A couch, bed and frame, kitchen table, stove, microwave oven and bathroom mirrors were among the items hauled out of a home by burglars Sunday morning in a foothill neighborhood of Arcadia just across the border from Sierra Madre.

The burglars forced open a window and exited through the garage with the items, according to Lt. Mike Castro of the Arcadia Police Department.   He noted they would have needed a van or moving truck to do the job.

The burglary happened in an unoccupied home that is up for sale in the 1700 block of Claridge Avenue - the real estate agent selling the home reported the crime, Castro said.

He noted it was not a typical burglary in that usually small, easy to carry items like jewelry are targeted.
