Blotter: Liquor Theft, Senior Citizen DUI

A senior citizen was arrested on suspicion of DUI, a liquor store was the victim of petty theft, and a piece of charred wood raises eyebrows on Woodland Dr.

During the week of Sunday, March 4th, to Saturday March 10th, the SMPD responded to approximately 233 calls for service.

Petty Theft of Vodka and Soda

On Saturday March 10 at 8:47 p.m., unknown suspects entered a liquor store in the 100 block of W Sierra Madre Blvd. They proceeded to steal a 750 ml bottle of Belvedere vodka and a 20 oz. bottle of Coca Cola.  The store clerk started to chase the suspects, which caused one of them to drop the bottle of vodka.  The suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Charred Wood Leads to Suspicion

On Saturday March 10 at 10:43 a.m., a piece of charred wood was thrown onto the concrete porch of a residence in the 500 block of Woodland Drive. The suspect(s) then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Senior Citizen Gets DUI

An officer stopped an 80-year-old Sierra Madre motorist for a Vehicle Code violation at 3:40 p.m. on Monday March 5. Further investigation revealed that driver was under the influence of alcohol.  The driver was transported to Pasadena Police Department Jail for booking.

Disorderly Conduct on Chaparral Rd.

On Sunday March 4 at 4:46 p.m., an intoxicated 56-year-old man was asked to leave a residence by the resident.  The left and was arrested for public intoxication outside the residence.  The subject was transported to Pasadena jail for booking.

Grand Theft of Mountain Bike

On Monday March 5, unknown suspect(s) entered the a residence in the 600 block of Chaparral Rd. at 2:48 p.m. through an open garage door and stole a 21 speed Trek 21 white and black mountain bicycle.  The bike was worth over $950, classifying it as a Grand Theft. The suspect(s) fled in an unknown direction.

Monrovia Motorist Stopped for DUI

An officer stopped a Monrovia motorist for a Vehicle Code Violation at Sycamore Place and Grandview Ave. at 2:59 p.m. Further investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.  The driver was arrested and transported to Pasadena Police Department Jail for booking.

Illegal Check Cashing

On Friday March 9 at 12:19 p.m., a suspect cashed a personal check, without the owner’s permission.

Identity Theft

On Friday March 9 at 2:26 p.m., a victim reported unauthorized use of their credit card.
