Bear Break-In, Two Other Bear Sightings Reported in Nearby Arcadia Foothills
Wednesday night and was a busy time for bears and animal control officers at the Arcadia Police Department.
An Arcadia resident reported a bear break-in inside a home in a hillside neighborhood just east of Santa Anita Avenue, just one of three bear sightings called in to the Arcadia Police Department Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The bear broke into a home in the 2000 block of Carolwood Drive at about 6:07 p.m. Wednesday, Arcadia Police Lt. Tom Cullen said. It left before animal control officers arrived.
"There was no report of damage," Cullen said.

Another bear sighting was reported at 8:50 p.m. in the 2200 block of Cielo Place, Cullen said. It also left before officers arrived. The third sighting was in the 1200 block of Oakwood Avenue at about 12:20 a.m. Thursday. It too departed before officers got there.
"We were up there a few times but it doesn't look like the officers had any contact with it or them," Cullen said.
