Apart from being Coffeebean fanatics, my husband and I are also a filmmaking team Dana White (writer/ producer) and Christopher Knoblock (director), and we are making a film that speaks to mature women. A growing list of female artists and activists from across the country have come to help, and we need yours too!
Starring Kathleen Chalfant and Harris Yulin, The Red Suitcase is a feature film in development about a 66 year old woman who, with her grown daughter's help, has to find the courage to start her life over. Not exactly “instant green-lit material” in Hollywood nowadays is it?

The film is based on a true story about my mother, who suddenly found herself alone and penniless after her husband of 35 years walked out of her life. The script was written as a tribute to her, "For being an inspiration and for having the strength to believe that it is never too late to start again.”
Women’s organizations, popular female bloggers, authors and artists from across the country, are gathering in support of my husband and I's project. These include Huffington Post, AARP weekly columnist Barbara Hanna Grufferman, the award winning photographer, Robbie Kaye, award winning painter/sculpture couple and aging advocatesAlice and Richard Matzkin, writer Barbara Torris, and popular author/blogger Dorothy Sander to name a few. The list is expanding.

We are using indiegogo as a crowd sourcing platform to help generate funding for the film. We launched their 60 day campaign on November 13, 2013, and are looking for further support to get the movie made.
